Strategising Amongst the Vineyards

Strategising Amongst the Vineyards
September 18, 2014 TMIC

This year’s TMIC Strategy Session was held in the picturesque surroundings of the Hunter Valley. We were lucky enough to stay in the gorgeous Crowne Plaza villas, in the heart of the infamous vineyards. On Day 1 the team gathered for a gorgeous lunch at Hope Estate Restaurant followed by some wine tasting at Hope Estate’s very own vineyard. We then moved onto Tempus Two winery where the team indulged in some more delicious drops. The third and final vineyard we visited was Brokenwood Wines where the team did the most damage to their wallets, particularly due to the popularity of the delightful Tawny port which was an instant favourite amongst the TMIC staff members! The afternoon of Day 1 also brought the review of action items from last year’s strategy session and a look into the financials and overview of the year that was.

On Day 2 the team really knuckled down to identify opportunities for improvement over the next 12 months and reflected on the extremely busy financial year of 2013/2014. Our annual strategy sessions always provide a unique platform for discussion regarding the year ahead and smarter ways of working together as a united team. Before we headed home to Sydney we couldn’t resist stopping by de Bortoli Wines and of course the Hunter Valley Chocolate Company. As we merrily rolled into our cars with our bellies full of fudge and chocolate covered almonds we all agreed that this year’s strategy session was not only one of the most productive but also one of the most enjoyable of all strategy session experiences. Thank you Angela for a fantastic weekend away! A most memorable time was had by all!
