On Tuesday, TMIC celebrated a milestone birthday of the one and only Robyn, our field supervising, bracelet-making, Queen of lollies.
Determined to celebrate our favourite “sweet” lady, Mel set out to create the perfect high tea experience. She travelled near and far to bring together all of Robyn’s favourites. We stuffed ourselves silly with all kinds of goodies. Of course, TMIC’s favourite sweet, the banana sticks were front and centre, as well as spearmint leaves and fairy bread, which sent us all into a sugar-fuelled daze of nostalgia. However, Arne was unimpressed with his first try of fairy bread and we were all stunned to discover that Maria has never eaten it at all!
We were also treated to sausage rolls, pies, scones and finger sandwiches, which rivalled those in Sydney’s best high tea rooms, and were even approved by Peter, our resident sandwich critic.
Bellies and hearts full, we all went back to work before the team had a collective sugar crash at 2pm. However, there were plenty of leftover lollies to bring us back to life again!
