After months of anticipation, the team finally enjoyed a night of food and fun, combining dinner with a show!
We kicked off the evening inside the Fullerton Hotel, rendezvousing at The Place with its stunning view of the General Post Office heritage building. While sipping on well-deserved cocktails, we eagerly awaited dinner. The three-course meal arrived, and the brisket was the resounding pick.
With appetites satisfied, we made the perilous 200-metre journey to the Theatre Royal. The stage was set for The Odd Couple, originally a play but beloved by many as the 1970s sitcom. We were introduced to the neurotic, hypochondriac Felix Unger, played by Todd McKenney, and his laid-back, divorced roommate Oscar Madison, played by Shane Jacobson.
During the intermission, the production received mixed reviews from the team. However, the introduction of Cecily and Gwendolyn Pigeon in the second half was a game-changer. These bubbly British sisters were hilarious, stealing the show with their impeccable delivery and physical comedy that caused even McKenney to break character in a fit of laughter on stage.
It was a fantastic night out, and we’re already looking forward to the next one!
